| Further information | Aventum acted as advisor to the owners of Galena Pharma (“Company”) on the sale of the majority of their shares in the Company to the Finnish private equity firm Intera Partners. Galena Pharma is a Finnish service-led pharmaceutical company specialized in contract manufacturing and packaging as well as related services (“CDMO”). The Company was acquired by the current owners Atte Kukkonen and Heidi Taipale from Yliopiston Apteekki in 2011. Since then, Atte and Heidi have transformed the Company into a full value chain CDMO service provider with increasing focus on innovative medical devices and pharmaceuticals. The Company’s modern production facility is in Kuopio, where the Company employs ~ 40 professionals. Galena Pharma has been growing every year since 2011 and reached +7 MEUR in sales in 2020. Considering Galena Pharma’s best-in-class market position, it was important to find a strong partner to support current owner-managers in taking the business to the next level and continuing Company’s constantly growing export business. In order to find the most optimal outcome for the owners as well as the best buyer for the Company, Aventum utilized its broad experience of sell-side mandates as well as established buyer network across Nordics and Europe.
