Mr. Rión has been working for more than 15 years in the investment banking industry. Previous to founding Pablo Rión y Asociados in 1990, Mr. Rión worked as a partner for Elek, Moreno Valle y Asociados for five years, where he directed and successfully closed several major investment banking projects.
Mr. Rión worked for Bank of America as Assistant Vice President in charge of problem loans. He also worked several years each at Grupo VISA (Femsa) in the mergers and acquisition division, Teléfonos de Mexico in the strategic planning division, and Grupo Domit as CFO.
Mr. Rión currently is member of the Venture Capital Valuation Board of Posadas de Mexico (largest Mexican Hotel Group), and a member of the Board of NAFIN's fund of funds.
Mr. Rión has been professor of finance in the MBA program at Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) and ITAM.
Mr. Rión holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana and a Master of Management degree from The Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
