Luminaries Come Out to Honor Recipients of the Third Annual M&A Advisor Awards

A Tradition Takes Hold as “Mackies” Are Presented to Top Deals and Professionals on December 13 in New York CityIn a ceremony worthy to be called the middle market mergers and acquisitions industry’s version of “The Academy Awards,” The M&A Advisor announced the victors in 17 different categories defining the gamut of 2004’s exceptional M&A transactions and the M&A firms and dealmakers which guided them to closing. Emcee Trish Regan of CBS MarketWatch presented the winners at a black tie dinner on Monday, December 13 at the New York City’s posh New York Athletic Club, attended by the luminaries of middle market investment banking, financing, and private equity as well as outstanding experts in the indispensable legal, accounting, investigative and other services required for deals to succeed.

“Hollywood has its Oscars; Broadway, its Tonys; television, its Emmys – I think we in the middle market M&A industry need a name for our awards. We call them the Mackies, for Mergers and Acquisitions,” said Roger Aguinaldo, founder, CEO, and publisher of The M&A Advisor, the leading newsletter, website, and conference host serving as a clearinghouse for information on the intricate world of buying and selling companies valued between $10 million and $1 billion.

Capturing the prize for Turnaround Deal of the Year was the Recapitalization of Corrpro Companies, Inc. The delicate, time-sensitive transaction was nominated by the investment banking firm Brown Gibbons Lang & Company.
